Girard man charged after weekend standoff
GIRARD — A Girard man was booked into the Trumbull County jail around 4:30 a.m. Sunday after a nearly five-hour standoff with police.
Jaquane D. Peavy, 27, faces charges of theft, domestic violence, having weapons under disability and burglary, according to the jail website. He will be arraigned today in Girard Municipal Court.
Police from Girard, Liberty and Vienna and the SWAT team were called Saturday evening to a home in the 200 block of East Prospect Street for a domestic incident with weapons where the man inside refused to come out, a police report states.
Members of the SWAT team eventually gained entry and removed a man from the home at 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Two adult females and a juvenile were removed from the home safely, the report states.
