WHAT: Trustees meeting March 14

PRESENT: Steven Gerberry, Edward Whittaker and Richard Harkins

The board:

• Approved a resolution recognizing Paul Colla for picking up litter throughout the township and invited him to be the grand marshal for the 2023 Flag Day Festival Parade;

• Authorized Administrator David Rouan to apply for an appropriation through U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and U.S. Rep. Dave Joyce, R-Bainbridge, for a Rural Development Community Facilities Grant for $685,850. If awarded, the money would be used to construct a multi-jurisdictional center;

• Agreed to promote police officer Lou Ronghi to sergeant;

• Accepted the resignation of police officer Chris Russo, who has taken a position with the Vienna Township Police Department;

• Reminded residents the last day the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Bookmobile will be at the community park is April 10;

• Announced the Ohio Department of Transportation will be resurfacing state Route 169 from North Road to the city of Warren corporate limit. The project is scheduled to begin in April and is expected to be completed by August;

• Announced ODOT will work on a drainage improvement project and resurfacing along state Route 46 between Prospect Street to Ohltown McDonald Road. The project is scheduled to begin in July and is expected to be completed by October.
