NILES — The Trumbull County Democratic Party’s executive committee unanimously voted to recommend Kathy DiCristofaro as a member of the county board of elections.

DiCristofaro’s appointment needs to be approved by Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

DiCristofaro, the party’s vice chairwoman, would replace Diana Marchese, whose term is expiring.

Mark Alberini, county Democratic Party chairman and chairman of the board of elections, said he wanted to have party officers serve on the elections board, which is a common practice throughout the state.

The job pays about $16,000 annually.
