YOUNGSTOWN — City firefighters were called to a home on the South Side of Youngstown Wednesday evening, where they found a dead woman inside.

Battalion Chief Chad Manchester said the fire occurred at 331 E. Auburndale Ave.

When fire personnel arrived, they found moderate smoke in the house. Manchester said no one else was in the home at the time of the fire.

The fire was called into 911 about 5:50 p.m. The Mahoning County Coroner arrived on scene after the woman was found and is now investigating the incident.

It was the second fatal fire in less than a week.

Firefighters found the body of Miles Hogan, 58, while fighting a fire late Dec. 1 at a home at 116 Oklahoma Ave.
