2 dead in West Side shooting

YOUNGSTOWN — A man, 51, and woman, 41, were found dead of gunshot wounds Tuesday afternoon in the 1900 block of Cherry Hill Avenue on the West Side.

Police were dispatched to the location at 3 p.m. for two deceased persons and found that they were gunshot victims and homicide victims, the Youngstown Police Department stated in a news release.

The police department has no current suspects. Its detective division and crime scene unit are investigating.

The homicides are believed to be Nos. 21 and 22 for the year in Youngstown. The previous homicide was that of Aaron Rogers IV, 29, of Youngstown, who was killed in the area of East Evergreen Avenue and Erie Street on the South Side on Oct. 7.

Anyone with information on Tuesday’s homicides is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 330-742-CLUE or 330-746-8YPD with information or tips, which can be left anonymously. Tips leading to an arrest and / or prosecution are eligible for a monetary reward.
