Threatening message found in Champion school restroom

CHAMPION –School officials found a threatening message inside a restroom stall at Champion Middle School on Tuesday.

According to a message left by Superintendent John Grabowski on the school district social media site, an all-call notice was sent out Tuesday to parents after a threat was found written on a bathroom stall at the middle school. He said staff and school resource officer quickly investigated the threat and identified the student responsible. The individual was removed from campus. Criminal charges will be reviewed by the prosecutor’s office, officials said.

”We will take the appropriate disciplinary action and continue to do everything in our power to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and students. Therefore, as a precautionary measure, additional police officers will be on campus… As a district, we take all threats very seriously.” Grabowski said.

Reports state police do not believe there is a continuing threat to students or staff.
