14 indicted in area crackdown

YOUNGSTOWN — Fourteen people are named in a 46-count federal indictment involving offenses of trafficking controlled substances into the Mahoning Valley.

Terrence Chauncy May, 46, of Youngstown, is the lead person named in the 54-page document detailing the offenses, which include conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute, and to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and tramadol.

Eleven of the 14 individuals were arrested Wednesday by federal, state and local law enforcement authorities. The case will be presented to U.S. Magistrate Carmen E. Henderson in the Northern Ohio District Court in Youngstown.

The indictment alleges that Terrence May used a South Side home on LaSalle Avenue to base his operations. Other homes on Hunter Avenue, East Evergreen Avenue and Southern Boulevard on the South Side and Matta Avenue and Rhoda Avenue on the West Side also were used in the enterprise, the government alleges.

Also named as defendants in the case are:

• Thomas May Jr., 42, also known as “Fat Man” of Youngstown;

• Terri Chauncy May, 22, also known as “Lil’ Tee” or “Little Terri” of Youngstown;l Terris Chailyn May, 20 aka “Bittle” of Youngstown;

• Key-Shaun Davis, 21, aka “Young Dude” “Key” or “Mr. Key” of Youngstown;

• Hope Butler, 22, of Youngstown;

• Wesley Allen Pierce May, 23, aka “Wes” of Youngstown;

• Christina May, 38, aka “Coco” of Youngstown;

• Ronald Falkowski, 51, of Berlin Center;

• Carlo “Carlos” Demain, 28, of Struthers;

• Jason Stiner, 38, aka “Kable” of Canfield;

• Nyasia Iris Lopez, 27, of Struthers;

• Shanika Simmons, 38, of Youngstown;

• Allison “Allie” Grossen, 35, of Youngstown.

Investigators say the conspirators used code words over cellphones to set up the drug sales. To support this claim, the indictment lists dozens of phone conversations carried on by defendants and “unindicted co-conspirators” during October and November 2021.

The indictment states that on Feb. 8, 2020, an “unindicted co-conspirator” possessed about 135.45 grams of a heroin / fentanyl mixture, about 14.4 grams of cocaine and other various mixtures of substances, plus $8,831 in cash and a Ruger 9mm pistol at a Hunter Avenue home in Youngstown.

Another Jan. 5, 2022, incident shows authorities seizing drugs at various locations in Youngstown, the government alleges.

The document also listed 20 drug buys to a confidential undercover source involving the defendants from Aug. 20, 2020 until Oct. 1, 2021 and again in December 2021.
