Boardman massage parlor raided as prostitution site

BOARDMAN — Boardman police used a search warrant at a massage parlor where authorities suspect prostitution had occurred.

Police entered Nana’s Chinese Massage on Youngstown Poland Road on Monday, where they arrested a 70-year-old woman for soliciting and engaging in prostitution, both misdemeanors. The woman had not been charged in as of Tuesday.

During the search, the police report notes that the woman began to have chest pains, so she was taken to St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital. At that time, she was released on summons and has not yet been booked into the Mahoning County jail.

According to the police report, officers took and logged into evidence paperwork, ledgers, receipts, an iPad, three iPhones and medication. Police also found a living area inside the business, which included a shower, a full kitchen and a bedroom.

The report states that Boardman police Chief Todd Werth contacted the zoning director, who told the chief there is no permit that would allow the woman to have an apartment in her business.

One of the phones taken belongs to a man who originally told police he was not affiliated with the business, but then admitted that he had a key to the front door and the internet bill was in his name. He also told police that he can access the parlor’s security cameras through his phone, which is when police confiscated his phone. He also has not been charged and was not arrested.
