Campbell shooting victims named

Amerah Green, 19, killed on Saturday at birthday party

CAMPBELL — Police on Monday identified the woman shot to death Saturday at a home in the 100 block of Lettie Avenue as Amerah Green, 19, of Madera Avenue in Youngstown, and the victim who survived as Ternisha Sutton, 27.

Both women were shot, said Lt. Kevin Sferra, a detective with the Campbell Police Department. He said no police report was being released as of Monday afternoon, and he could not provide more details.

Police have said a birthday party was taking place at the time of the 10:30 p.m. shootings. Agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation are assisting Campbell police.

Green also was a gunshot victim May 8 in the 600 block of Samuel Avenue on Youngstown’s South Side, according to Youngstown police. Also wounded in that shooting were Cora Harris, 40, of Palmer Avenue; and Jamya Elizabeth, 20, of Palmer Avenue.

After the shooting, Green ran to a Miller Street home before she was taken to the hospital.

Youngstown police said bullet holes were found in a home at 624 Samuel Ave. during the investigation of the shootings, that a vehicle at the home had been struck by a bullet.

The house is where Persayus Davis-May, 10, was shot to death in an incident in August. Three adults also were shot outside of the home, but survived. Davis-May was inside her house when she was shot.

No arrests have been made in the Davis-May killing.

The Youngstown Police Department, Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force and FBI served a search warrant May 10 at the Samuel Avenue home in connection to several recent shootings across the South Side. The investigation was not related to the girl’s killing, according to police.
