Trumbull County gets $80K for tourism

The U.S. Economic Development Administration awarded an $80,000 grant to the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau.

The money will be used to fund the county’s regional tourism strategy recovery plan, which works to increase tourism in the county. The funding comes from the American Rescue Plan.

“The tourism industry was hit particularly hard during the pandemic and investments like these will help communities across Northeast Ohio increase tourism, create jobs and bolster the economy,” U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Cleveland, said Thursday in announcing the grant. “Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, tourism bureaus like Trumbull County’s will be able to continue supporting local businesses and workers and grow local tourism industries.”
