YOUNGSTOWN — The Glenwood Fresh Market at 2915 Glenwood Ave. will open at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The market is a new facility that will be open year-round for members to access free, high-quality fresh fruits, vegetables and other health foods. All residents who are low-income or predisposed to illnesses linked to diet are eligible to become members.

So far, 940 people have become members and the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp., which organized the market, expects to enroll a total of 2,000 in the coming months.

The market will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursday.

The market is funded by various foundations and organizations.
