WARREN -- A Liberty Township man who is now incarcerated in the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center was arraigned Monday on a felony robbery charge connected to the Sept. 27, 2021, incident in which a man threatened to blow up a quick cash outlet on Belmont Avenue.
Randy L. Jamison, 46, of Green Acres Drive apartments, pleaded not guilty through his public defender to the second-degree felony. Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Peter J. Kontos kept Jamison's bond at $25,000 and set another pretrial hearing for Feb. 14.
Records show Jamison is incarcerated because of a parole violation on a federal conviction for bank robbery. Reports show on May 29, 2015, Jamison, 40, robbed the Huntington Bank in downtown Youngstown of about $2,248. He was sentenced in 2016 to 71 months in a federal prison for the Huntington Bank robbery. In August 2021, a federal judge ordered him to pay restitution of $2,248 to the bank. Records show that Jamison also served a 10-year sentence for a 2007 aggravated robbery in Mahoning County and was released in 2017.
Officers were called to Ace Cash Express on Belmont Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Sept. 27 for the reported robbery, according to a police report. Reports said the suspect had threatened to blow up the place if he didn't get the money. Federal court records show Jamison is in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
Also on Monday, a Warren man was arraigned on possession of cocaine charge and the judge continued his $50,000 bond which was posted shortly after his arrest last summer. Marc J. Foster, 40, of Vermont Avenue NW, pleaded not guilty to the fifth-degree felony charge and will appear again before Kontos on Feb. 7 for a pretrial hearing. Foster was arrested after police investigated a shots fired complaint at the corner of Fourth Street and Main Avenue SW late in the evening of July 21.
