WARREN -- A Girard man on Wednesday received a 24-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to felony charges connected to a February 2021 drug investigation conducted by the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force.
Brian A. Guy, 40, of West Second Street, Girard, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs and one count of aggravated possession of drugs. As part of the plea deal negotiated by his attorney Jeff Goodman and prosecutors, four other charges were dropped.
Guy's prison sentence will be served concurrently with an 18-month sentence he was given last October by Judge Andrew D. Logan for a conviction of having weapons while under disability.
The drug investigation began Feb. 1, 2021, as Guy sold 1.04 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant working with the task force for $100, prosecutors said. Other drug buys were conducted on Feb. 5, 2021, and Feb. 24, 2021, with more amounts of meth sold at $100 increments to the informant at Guy's Girard home. The drug buys netted a search warrant of the home, where task force agents found 30 tablets that later tested positive for hydrocodone.
