Man struck and killed in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — A man was struck by a vehicle and killed while walking in the westbound lane on Midlothian Boulevard just before 7 p.m. Thursday. The location is a short distance west of Schwebel Baking Company, 965 E. Midlothian Blvd.

The man was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, where he later died, according to a Youngstown Police Department news release.

The release states that an “unknown type of vehicle” struck the man, and officers were sent to 830 E. Midlothian Blvd. for the crash. The vehicle apparently left the scene.

The police department is asking that anyone with information about the incident to call the Youngstown Police Accident Investigative Unit at 330-742-8929 or Crime Stoppers at 330-746-CLUE.
