WARREN — With holiday spirits high, the community continues to give to kids in need.

Warren-based Covelli Enterprises partnered with the Marines to raise money for the Toys for Tots program. Out of the proceeds, Covelli Enterprises presented a check for $15,000 to the program.

The primary goal of the Marines Toys for Tots is to help bring joy and send a message of hope to America’s less-fortunate children through gifting toys during the holidays.

“It is a true privilege to be able to partner with Toys for Tots,” Sam Covelli, owner and operator of Covelli Enterprises, said. “This has been a cause we’ve supported for more than three decades, and it’s because we are committed to taking care of people in our communities, especially children, and especially during the holiday season.”

Last year, 20,000 toys were donated from the proceeds. Allen Ryan, director of corporate affairs for the company, said that over the years, Covelli Enterprises has received thousands of thank-you letters received from kids positively impacted by the program.

“Those personal notes are very powerful, because it shows that the need is actually there, and you see the impact of what you’re doing,” Ryan said. “Oftentimes, it’s difficult to see the difference you’re making when you’re buying something or writing a check, but that feedback from the people it’s affecting is everything.”
