Report: Car stolen Monday on South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — An Austintown man, 35, reported that a man he knows only as “O Dog” stole his 2017 Chevrolet Cruze at gunpoint about 4 a.m. Monday on Southern Boulevard.

The victim said he told the police at 2 p.m. that he was on his way home from work and stopped at Jordan’s Market on Market Street on the South Side. The man said the thief, about 5-foot-9-inches, skinny, wearing a red shirt and black pants, asked for a ride.

The victim agreed and drove him to a brick building on Southern Boulevard, where the man pulled out a gun and ordered the victim out of the car.

The victim said he ran from the area. He did not know the address of the building or the name of a nearby cross street. He said he called more than 10 hours after the robbery because the battery on his phone died.

The victim was limping and said he injured his leg jumping a fence while running from the gunman. He refused medical attention.

Police drove the victim home.
