Youngstown man pleads to seeking sex for hire

YOUNGSTOWN — Nicholas J. Rosen, 31, of Oneta Avenue pleaded guilty Monday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to six counts of promoting prostitution involving six women.

The crimes were committed between January 2018 and February 2020.

Assistant Prosecutor Jennifer McLaughlin told Judge Anthony Donofrio that prosecutors are recommending that Rosen get nine months in prison. Rosen will be supervised by the Mahoning County Adult Probation Department for five years after he serves any prison time Donofrio imposes at Rosen’s 10 a.m. Jan. 3 sentencing.

Rosen had been indicted on one additional count of compelling prostitution and two misdemeanor counts of procuring prostitution, but those charges were dismissed in exchange for Rosen’s guilty pleas.

Each of Rosen’s six convictions state that he did “induce or procure” victims to engage in sexual activity for hire.”

The charges stemmed from a 2020 investigation by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
