HUBBARD — A Hubbard student was arrested Thursday after returning to the school district from the Trumbull Career and Technical Center with an unloaded handgun.

Police officials said there is no further threat to students or staff, but as a precaution Hubbard schools will have an additional police officer at the district buildings today. Further details about the student and incident were not being released.

TCTC and Hubbard school officials commended the police for their action to eliminate any potential threat. Both schools are scheduled to be open today.
