State’s virus cases near two-month low
Ohio had its lowest total of new COVID-19 cases for a Monday in almost two months.
The state had 2,810 new COVID-19 cases reported Monday. It’s the fewest cases reported for a Monday since Aug. 23 with 2,775 cases.
Sundays and Mondays typically are the days with the fewest COVID-19 cases in the state because of a lag in reporting over the weekend.
The 2,810 COVID-19 cases Monday is down from the daily average of 5,038 for the past 21 days, according to the Ohio Department of Health. The state’s 21-day average about three weeks ago was 6,600.
Monday’s total includes 207 cases in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties combined.
