Men caught in sex sting indicted

YOUNGSTOWN — Some of the men who were arrested in a sting operation in early August targeting individuals allegedly seeking to have sex with minors were indicted Thursday by a Mahoning County grand jury.

The operation was conducted by the Mahoning County Sheriff’s office and the Mahoning County Human Trafficking Task Force.

Those indicted are:

Richard R. Mclemore, 48, state Route 165 East Palestine, compelling prostitution, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of possessing criminal tools.

Mark E. Young, 54, West Broadway Street, Alliance, importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and possession of criminal tools.

James M. Smalley, 52, Sharp Street, Salem, importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and possessing criminal tools.

Brian K. Evans, 52, Woodgate Street, Austintown, importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, compelling prostitution and two counts of possessing criminal tools.

Brian R. Rogers, 59, Atwater, compelling prostitution, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, soliciting and two counts of possessing criminal tools.

Scotty L. Akins:, 33, Gladstone Street, Campbell, importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and possessing criminal tools.

Daryl L.McLendon, 25, Southern Boulevard, Boardman, importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and possessing criminal tools.

Ruben B. Saucedo, 51, Valley Drive, North Canton, soliciting.

Gary Seevers, 48, Lucust Street, Beaver Falls, Pa., importuning, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of possessing criminal tools.

Nikitas M. Zirounis, 52, Maplecrest Drive, Austintown, compelling prostitution, attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, possessing criminal tools and soliciting.

In an unrelated case, Adrienne D.Washington, 20, of Hudson Avenue was indicted on two counts of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and one count each of aggravated possession of drugs and obstructing official business.

The charges resulted from a police chase last month on the South Side during which officers attempted to stop Washington for an alleged traffic violation and Washington fled in the car and later on foot. Officers captured Washington on Roxbury Avenue.

Washington is the same man who fled from police on the East Side Feb. 6 after an officer tried to make a traffic stop for an alleged traffic violation, and Washington crashed into a car containing former YSU football player Darius Shackelford, 24, as it traveled into the intersection of McGuffey Road and Oak Street, killing Shackelford.

Others indicted Thursday:

Cheree T. Moore, 42, LaClede Avenue, two counts of aggravated arson.

Donteill M.Grant, 22, Liberty Road, carrying a concealed weapon.

Joe Jackson, 23, Mahoning County jail, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Sayquan L. Ragland, 23, South Whitney Avenue, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

Deandre L. Smith, 19, Mahoning County jail, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, vehicular assault, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business with a firearm specification, inducing panic and failure to stop after an accident.

Larry A. Smith, 18, Mahoning County jail, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business with a firearm specification and inducing panic.

Chad E. Marshall, 42, Willis Avenue, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and permitting drug abuse.

Ashley M. Medeiros, 32, Breaden Street, possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possessing drug abuse instruments and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Zyaire Swearengen, 18, Mahoning County jail, vandalism.

Isaiah M. Bell, 20, Ridgeville Avenue, Boardman, vandalism, three counts of receiving stolen property and one count of misuse of credit cards and contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child.

Desmonique R. Hammonds, 31, last known address Newport Drive, Boardman, breaking and entering.

Orlando A. Carabbia, 55, Knollwood Avenue, Poland, misuse of credit cards.

Jillian M. Fair, 33, Market Street, Boardman, two counts of assault and one count of obstructing official business, domestic violence and resisting arrest.

T’Oshanae N. Dumas, 23, Market Street, Boardman, tampering with records, forgery, identity fraud, falsification and petty theft.
