Copper, brass stolen from Edison substation dumpster

WEATHERSFIELD — Thirty feet of copper and six brass fittings were stolen Wednesday morning from an Ohio Edison substation dumpster, according to a police report from Weathersfield Township.

An Ohio Edison supervisor told police that the utility is making updates and the old copper wire and brass fittings were thrown into the dumpster and stolen sometime between Monday and Tuesday night. Police estimated the items are worth less than $1,000 in scrap money.

The facility has cameras and police asked Ohio Edison to provide the footage.
