Weathersfield theft thwarted; police have suspects

WEATHERSFIELD — Township police are investigating an attempted theft of a mini-bike that was thwarted by its owner.

A police report states about 3 a.m. Monday the bike owner was headed to a friend’s room at the Villa Arms Motel, 111 Youngstown Warren Road, when he saw two men, in their late teens or early 20s, dressed in black clothing try to steal the motorized bike. The would-be thieves said they were looking for someone named “Tim” when the owner told them to leave.

The report states an argument ensued and the two individuals left in a silver Nissan sport utility vehicle. The owner told police he’s never seen them before and knows they do not stay at the motel.
