MEN’S RALLY: The Men’s Rally in the Valley will be 7 am. to 4 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown. The theme is “Be United in Christ.” Admission is free. Scheduled guests are Tim Ginter, Bob Pavlich, Joel Penton, Vance Johnson, Markus McFolling Doors open at 7 a.m. There will be a musical performance by Sidewalk Prophets.

FIRST FRIDAY CLUB: The First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown Speaker Series will host the Rev, Bob Bonnot on Oct. 7 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Bonnot, executive director of the Association of U.S. Catholic Priests and pastor emeritus of Christ our Savior Parish, will present his address, “How Baptized and Ordained Priests are Called to Synodal Discernment.” There will be an opportunity for participants’ questions. PRAYER GATHERING: A drive-in prayer gathering and tent revival will be 7 p.m. today and Sunday at 8301 Market St., Boardman.

PET BLESSING: First Presbyterian Church, Mahoning Avenue, Warren, will host a blessing of the pets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Pets are to be brought caged or leashed.

WOMEN’S WEEKEND: A Women’s Transformation weekend will be 7 p.m. Sept. 24 and 9 a.m. Sept. 25 at Life Church, 610 S. Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg. The theme is “Be Transformed.” Speakers are Rhea Marshall and Leah Simmons. Registration is $40 at www.lcogoh.com through Wednesday.

CHILDREN’S CLUBS: First Baptist Church, 26 E. Church St., Niles, will host the Awana Club and the Kids 4 Truth Club 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

FOOD HELP: New Life Church, 1181 Churchill Hubbard Road, Liberty, will have a food pantry in the church parking lot seven days a week. The church installed a new Blessing Box with donations available each day. Anyone is welcome to give or receive food.

STUDY GROUP: The Unity Spiritual Centre, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will host a new book study group 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesdays. The Rev. Cay Tomerlin and Reed Broadway will facilitate the discussion of “Home with God” by Neale Donald Walsch. “Home with God” is a continuation of Walsch’s “Conversations with God” series and deals specifically with the subject of death and life after. BUS TRIP: Jesus the Key Ministries has a few openings on its bus trip to Lancaster, Pa. The trip is to Sight and Sound Theater to see “Queen Esther,” a live theatrical presentation Dec. 8 and 9 departing from First Christian Church in Columbiana. Cost is $320. CAHILL CONCERT: Internationally acclaimed Irish tenor Emmet Cahill will present his fall comeback concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave. near downtown.

This will be the singer’s fourth appearance at the church, having previously performed in December of 2016 and 2017, as well as in May 2019. Cahill is one of the lead singers of Celtic Thunder, and his concert will be a combination of Irish music, classical music, show tunes and church hymns.

Proceeds will benefit the St. Columba food pantry and educational programs.

Tickets can be purchased for a special pre-concert meet-and-greet with Emmet at 6 p.m. for $50. Other tickets are $40 for mid-section front and $30 for seats in the back of the church.

WOMEN’S CONNECTION: Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will present its “Fall is in the Air” luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield.

The luncheon will feature a presentation by Christina Benton, owner of

Just Pizzelles in Cortland. Music will be provided by Karen Gerberry and the speaker will be Mary Haddad of Adrian, Mich., who will speak on “Survival and Success in the Search for Significance.”

OKTOBERFEST: Christ Our Savior/ St. Nicholas Parish, 764 Fifth St., Struthers, will host its third annual Oktoberfest 5 to 11 p.m. Oct. 1. The event will include food, contests and entertainment by Youngstown Saxon Club Brass Band from 7 to 10 p.m.

GUEST SPEAKER: Word of Life Christian Center, 127 Wasser Road, Greenville, Pa. will host guest speaker, the Rev. Woody Woodson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sept. 26. Woodson is known for anointed preaching, healing and prophetic impartation.
