City man gets prison for firing gun at car
YOUNGSTOWN — Braylon S. Hornbuckle, 19, was sentenced to five to six years in prison Tuesday for firing a gun into a vehicle in a case of mistaken identity.
Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court handed down the sentence after Hornbuckle pleaded guilty to felonious assault with a three-year gun specification, being a felon in possession of a firearm and cocaine possession.
The defendant listed addresses on East Ravenwood Avenue and Boardman-Canfield Road in Boardman.
Prosecutors said Hornbuckle fired at a car being driven by a woman down Lansdowne Boulevard on April 1 on the East Side. Eight shots hit the car, but the woman was not injured. Hornbuckle thought the driver was someone else, Mahoning County Assistant Prosecutor Michael Rich said.
The woman, however, recognized Hornbuckle and identified him to police.
The cocaine charge was a separate case involving an incident June 23.
