The Ohio Department of Health reported 3,963 new COVID-19 cases this weekend, bringing the state total since the pandemic began to 1,211,895.
The health department also reported 34 new hospitalizations, bringing that total to 65,349,
Health officials also reported 6,055,514 Ohioans -- 51.80 percent of the state's population -- have started the vaccination process, an increase of 8,032 from the previous day.
The Department of Health reported 70 deaths Friday, bringing the total to 20,799. The state is updating the number only after death certificates have been processed, usually Tuesdays and Fridays.
The state surpassed 1.2 million cases Friday, taking 96 days to add 100,000 cases.
The ODH said with the addition of Saturday's 4,855 new cases, last week's total reached 29,140. That's the most Ohio has seen since the week of Jan. 24. The recent daily high of 5,395 new cases on Thursday was the most reported on one day since Jan. 28.
Mahoning County reported 56 new cases Sunday, bringing total cases to 24,175. Deaths were at 618.
Trumbull County reported 37 new cases, bringing total cases to 17,884. Deaths were at 496.
Columbiana County reported 16 new cases Sunday, bringing total cases to 10,040 and deaths to 236.
