Girard woman names cable company in suit
WARREN –A Girard woman is suing a Delaware business that operates the Spectrum cable television service throughout Ohio because of an injury she says she suffered while service personnel were at her Pinecrest Road home on Feb. 16, 2018.
The case was filed in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court against Charter Communications. According to the complaint written on behalf of Carol Spano of Girard by attorney Patrick Moro, the woman suffered injuries to her head, back, legs and shoulders.
Also named as a defendant is an unknown John Doe who operates the local business, the lawsuit states.
When the injury happened, the suit states, Spectrum workers were at Spano’s home to repair technical issues involving her internet and cable television.
Several attempts to reach Moro to obtain more details about the woman’s injury and how the cable company was involved were unsuccessful.
A spokesman for Charter Communications did not respond to a phone call and email asking for comment.
The suit charges the company and its employees failed to exercise ordinary care for Spano’s safety including providing notice to her of concealed dangers that the workers should have noticed while doing their work.
Spano is seeking $25,000 in lost wages and other expenses, including future and past medical bills.
The lawsuit has been assigned to the courtroom of Judge Andrew D. Logan, who has not set any hearings in the case. The docket shows that the defendants have been served notice of the lawsuit.
