CANFIELD — The Mahoning County Agricultural Society, the governing body for the Canfield Fair and Canfield Fairgrounds, has announced a new app for fairgoers.

It’s useful for people planning to navigate their way through the 175th edition of the fair, set for Sept. 1-6.

The new app, according to the fair board, offers:

l A one-stop shop for advance purchase tickets to the grandstand shows and admission tickets;

l Direct links to the junior fair livestock auctions for online bidding;

l An interactive GPS map that allows fairgoers to pin and name significant locations as an easy way to remember locations of a parking space or food vendor;

l An interactive schedule of events that will help plan a fairgoer’s itinerary;

l A comprehensive list of all fair vendors;

l A photo hunt challenge that will award prizes;

l A push notification system that will allow alerts and updates to be sent in the event of an emergency.

Throughout this month, the app will be updated with information regarding community events that will take place at the fairgrounds. The app is available for free download in the App Store and on Google Play by searching “Canfield Fairgrounds.”
