YOUNGSTOWN -- A Warren woman was convicted of federal charges dealing with the trafficking of methamphetamine and was sentenced Monday to 24 months in prison.
Leanne Comstock, 39, of Hiram Avenue NW, appeared before U.S. Judge Solomon Oliver Jr. of the Northern District Court Of Ohio and pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Oliver sentenced her to 24-month concurrent terms and three years of supervised release after her term. The judge allowed Comstock to self-report to the prison in about 60 days after completion of her in-patient drug abuse treatment. If the treatment is completed before 60 days, the judge ordered confinement at the home of Comstock's mother under the supervision of a probation officer until her report date.
Fines were waived, but she was assessed a court cost of $400.
The indictment mentioned the offenses, involving substances containing a mixture of methamphetamine, occurred between April 23 and 25, 2019.
Trumbull County Common Pleas Court records find three open drug cases against Comstock.
• On Aug. 3, Comstock is expected to appear before Judge Andrew D. Logan for pretrial on a charge of possession of a fentanyl-related compound.
• She is expected to appear Aug. 9 for a plea hearing before Judge Peter J. Kontos on a charge of aggravated possession of drugs.
• Comstock faces another aggravated possession of drugs charge in Logan's court. She is expected to be arraigned Aug. 3.
