Of the 201 new COVID-19 cases reported by the Ohio Department of Health on Saturday, six of them came from the Mahoning Valley.
Those 201 new cases, however are 61 cases below the 21-day average. On Friday, the state reported nearly three times that with 579 new cases, which is the most for a single day in nearly a month.
The ODH reported the new total cases of COVID-19 to be 1,112,289 -- a 1,743 case increase from last week. Death totals sit at 20,344, which is 63 more than last week. The ODH provides death information on Tuesdays and Fridays.
In the Valley, the new cases come only from Mahoning and Trumbull counties, which added four and two new cases, respectively. Columbiana County tallied no new cases as well as no new presumed recovered cases. Total cases in the county sit at 9,053 and total presumed recovered cases are reported at 8,793. Since last week, Columbiana County added nine new cases and only three deaths.
Total cases in Mahoning County rest at 22,429, a 23-case increase from last week. Death totals in the county are 608, which is five more than last week.
In Trumbull County, no new deaths have been reported since last week's findings. Total new cases in the county sit at 16,599, which is 21 more than last week.
