AUSTINTOWN — Township police are investigating a claim made by a manager for a business who said a former employee tried cashing a check for approximately $1,500.

Management for On Demand, 5760 Patriot Blvd., told police he was alerted by the company’s bank, Premiere Bank, that someone tried to cash a fraudulent check totaling $1,472.74. A police report states the check is made out to the suspect who formerly worked for the company, but was “let go on bad terms” on June 11, 2020.

No funds were taken from the business. Austintown detectives are investigating the incident.
