Police probe burglary; several items are taken
AUSTINTOWN — Township police are investigating a Tuesday burglary that saw medicinal marijuana, memorabilia and electronics stolen from a South Main Street home.
Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of South Main Street where they met with the resident, who said he left his home at 7:30 a.m. He left his garage door unlocked to give his son access to the home while the resident was out of town.
He returned home before his son, around 4:30 p.m., and found an interior sliding door open. When he looked around, the man found his medical marijuana and two electronic cigarettes stolen, the police report states. He also told police a gaming console was stolen.
The report states he went upstairs and his 58-inch television was missing, as were his Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia coins.
The gaming console is valued at $250, the coins are valued at $75, the television is valued at $485, and the medication is valued at $180. The incident was forwarded to the department’s detective bureau.
