Meth bust nets Liberty man at least 6 years

WARREN -- A Liberty man was sentenced Wednesday to an indefinite six- to nine-year prison term after being convicted on felony charges for about a pound of methamphetamine found in a suspicious truck last September in Braceville.

Allan G. Bosak, 37, of Euclid Boulevard, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, aggravated trafficking in drugs and having weapons under restrictions.

Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge W. Wyatt McKay agreed to the plea deal, which saw prosecutors drop charges of carrying a concealed weapon and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

McKay said the charges Bosak pleaded to required a mandatory prison sentence because of the amount of drugs found on him.

As part of the arrangement, Bosak was to forfeit $1,080 in cash and a firearm that was seized by authorities during his arrest on Sept. 11, 2020.

According to reports, Trumbull County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of Braceville Robinson Road to investigate an unknown problem. When deputies arrived, they found a suspicious vehicle -- identified as a gray 2020 Chevrolet SUV -- in the driveway with a man and a woman inside.

According to the report, among the items found in the vehicle, in addition to about 450 grams of crystal methamphetamine, were a Smith and Wesson .40-caliber handgun with live rounds; two bags each containing white pills; two folded pieces of paper containing brown powdery substances; and numerous plastic bags containing suspected opioids, including Oxycodone, Oxycontin, Endocet, fentanyl and heroin, crack cocaine, morphine, marijuana and amphetamines.

Once freed from prison, Bosak would be subject to a five-year supervised release program, the judge said.

The Conneaut woman, 37, also arrested with Bosak last fall in Braceville, now is wanted on a warrant dealing with an unrelated felony case before Trumbull County Judge Andrew D. Logan, according to court records.
