WARREN -- A man accused of shooting at Columbiana County authorities early Thursday during a high-speed chase south of Salem is now in Trumbull County jail. He was found later in the morning by Warren police driving a vehicle that was reported stolen.
Brandon Michael House, 25, with a Salem address, is facing a host of felony charges in Columbiana County as well as another charge in Trumbull County and a parole violation, Columbiana County Sheriff Brian McLaughlin said.
The chase started in Perry Township, south of Salem about 4:20 a.m., McLaughlin said, and was broken off by authorities outside Salineville to the south because of the narrowness of the road.
The stolen vehicle -- identified as a 2015 Jeep Patriot -- was later traced to the Mays Towing parking lot off Chestnut Street SE in Warren, where Warren police officers around 8:30 a.m. arrested the four occupants, including House. Three other suspects in the Jeep -- Jonathon Daviduk, 24, of a Creed Street apartment in Struthers, Aaron M. Freet, 39, of Market Street, Youngstown, and Wayne E. Perry, 29, of Kenilworth Avenue SE, Warren -- were arrested on warrants from the U.S. Marshals Service. McLaughlin said they all had escaped from a halfway house in Youngstown.
McLaughlin said someone in the stolen vehicle was firing shots at the Perry Township police during the pursuit. No one was injured. Also, McLaughlin said the suspects were accused of breaking into a Salineville business. He said authorities found two windows broken out of the business, with cash and bank debit cards missing.
Warren Municipal Court records show House faces a receiving stolen property charge, but a hearing has not been scheduled there.
According to a Trumbull County 911 report, Warren police were alerted by Columbiana County and federal marshals to the possible location of the stolen car at the Mays Towing lot. A Warren police report showed that once he was in custody, House was found in possession of the Salineville business's identification and debit cards.
The Columbiana County sheriff's office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are continuing the investigation, McLaughlin said.
