Five cited following downtown brawl

YOUNGSTOWN — Police charged five people after finding them involved in a brawl at the corner of North Hazel and West Federal streets at 2:43 a.m. Friday.

An officer observed the brawl and broadcast it to other officers over the police radio and then stepped out of his cruiser and yelled for everyone to “break it off.”

He yelled the command a second time, but none of the five heeded his request. He pulled one of the five off of others and grabbed another man still swinging on others.

With the help of other officers, all five were detained and given citations for disorderly conduct. All five were released from the scene and ordered to appear Monday morning for arraignment in Youngstown Municipal Court on the fourth-degree misdemeanor charges.

Charged were Stephan R. Elash, 24; Marc A. Elash, 21; and Aaron Jackson, 24, all of Sanderson Avenue; plus Tyler N. Tabor, 26, of Beverly Hills Drive; and Brandon D. Jackson, 25, of Elruth Court in Girard.
