While the state recorded more new COVID-19 cases Tuesday than the two previous days combined, it was the 18th straight day with fewer than 500 daily reported cases.
There were 349 new cases reported Tuesday. In comparison, 133 were reported Monday and 166 on Sunday for a combined two-day total of 289.
Also, Tuesday's case total is up from the daily average of 325 for the past 21 days, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
Just a month ago, the daily average was 1,116 cases.
The state had a total of 1,109,374 COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday with 1,080,978 presumed recovered and 20,213 deaths.
The ODH provides death information on Tuesdays and Fridays.
An increase of 47 deaths since Friday was reported with one in Trumbull County.
Mahoning County, however, had a reduction of one death. That likely was caused by a death initially incorrectly being counted for Mahoning and then having it further reviewed and determining the deceased lived elsewhere.
Mahoning County had 22,383 total COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday with 21,576 presumed recovered and 602 deaths, according to the ODH.
Trumbull County had 16,559 total COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday with 15,913 presumed recovered and 483 deaths.
Columbiana County had 9,038 total COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday with 8,766 presumed recovered and 230 deaths.
VACCINATIONS
There were 5,520,163 people, 47.22 percent of the state's population, who at least had started getting inoculated as of 6 a.m. Tuesday, including 7,006 in the previous 24 hours, according to the ODH.
In Mahoning County, 45.94 percent of the population (105,062 people) had received at least one dose, while 43.68 percent of the population in Trumbull County (86,469 people) and 37.07 percent in Columbiana County (37,766 people) had as of 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to the ODH.
There were 5,068,414 people, 43.36 percent of the state's population, who finished the vaccinations as of 6 a.m. Tuesday, including 9,867 in the prior 24 hours.
In Mahoning County, 41.62 percent of the population (95,170 people) had completed the process, while 39.23 percent of the population in Trumbull (77,666 people) and 34.39 percent of the population in Columbiana (35,038 people) had as of 6 a.m. Tuesday.
