Coronavirus cases remain low in Ohio
For the 12th straight day, new daily COVID-19 cases in Ohio stayed below 500.
The 381 new cases Wednesday is down from the daily average of 396 for the past 21 days, according to the Ohio Department of Health. Only 13 of them were in the Mahoning Valley.
The state had a total of 1,107,902 COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday with 1,078,276 presumed recovered.
The ODH provides death information on Tuesdays and Fridays. There were 20,122 deaths as of Tuesday.
Mahoning County had 22,346 total COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday with 21,496 presumed recovered and 603 deaths, according to the ODH.
Trumbull County had 16,535 total COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday with 15,858 presumed recovered and 482 deaths.
Columbiana County had 9,027 total COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday with 8,729 presumed recovered and 230 deaths.
There were 5,476,052 people, 46.85 percent of the state’s population, who had at least started getting inoculated as of 6 a.m. Wednesday, including 14,083 in the previous 24 hours, according to the ODH.
In Mahoning County, 45.41 percent of the population (103,840 people) had received at least one dose with 43.56 percent of the population in Trumbull County (86,229 people) and 36.97 percent in Columbiana County (37,666 people) as of 6 a.m. Wednesday, according to the ODH.
There were 4,978,800 people, 42.59 percent of the state’s population,who finished the vaccinations as of 6 a.m. Wednesday, including 33,521 in the prior 24 hours.
The state should exceed 5 million people who completed the vaccinations today.
In Mahoning County, 40.74 percent of the population (93,158 people) had completed the process while 38.64 percent of the population in Trumbull (76,506 people) and 33.99 percent of the population in Columbiana (34,630 people) had as of 6 a.m. Wednesday.
