Cold case body identified as Sharon, Pa., woman
Skeletal remains found in a swampy area of Jackson, Miss., 30 years ago have been identified as Kimberly Ann Funk of Sharon, Pa., who went missing in 1990 at the age of 21.
Investigators said Funk was identified through DNA, which was matched to her brother who still lives in Sharon, police said. He told police she went missing in early 1990.
Her remains were found in February 1991. Investigators determined she arrived in the Gulf Coast area between April and June 1990 from Houston. Her death was ruled a homicide, but no cause of death was given.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who may have further information to contact their investigators at 228-769-3063.
