Police activity reported May 5-16:
May 16, 10:32 p.m. — Mutual aid assistance provided to Poland Township police involved with a domestic dispute over a handgun at 5857 Poland-Struthers Road.
May 12, 8:30 a.m. — A report was taken at Poland Middle School, 47 College St., regarding a threatening message toward a teacher on the bathroom wall.
May 6, 9:18 p.m. — Officers marked the house for the Poland Fire Department after verifying a chimney fire with burning embers falling on the roof at 125 Diana Drive.
2:38 a.m. — Theft of a cashier’s check made out to Poland Presbyterian Church reported from a vehicle parked at 18 Centennial Drive.
May 5, 9 a.m. — Theft of a tan leather purse, miscellaneous change and gift cards reported from a vehicle parked at 38 Island Drive.

Police activity reported April 22-May 4:
May 4, 9:21 a.m. — A truck was speeding recklessly through the lawn at 19 Massachusettes Ave. and an altercation between two men, who both left the scene, was reported.
May 2, 7:59 a.m. — Police responded to a call about a suspicious man drinking alcohol in Poland Woods near the bridge.
April 29, 11 p.m. — Joshua D. Stephens, 27, 2146 East Park Drive, Uniontown, was cited for excessive speed (74 mph in a 25 mph zone), peeling tires and reckless operation following a traffic stop on U.S. 224.
5:50 p.m. — A vehicle window was broken at Martial Arts Training Center, 15 W. McKinley Way. The owners were told that if anything was found missing, to report it.
12:16 a.m. — Officer were called to the Interstate 680 bridge on U.S. 224 where a man was reported as possibly jumping. It later turned out to be a local man looking for the red foxes that live near the bridge.
April 27, 6:29 p.m. — Daniel J. O’Connor, 64, 6975 Sittig Ave., Poland, was arrested on a bench warrant out of Trumbull County and was released to Trumbull County deputies.
April 26, 11:39 a.m. — Felix J. Carbon (no listed age), 66 College St., Poland, was cited by the deputy dog warden on charges of failing to confine a canine, failing to properly register and failure to provide proof of vaccination after a dog attacked a woman with two leashed dogs walking on College Street.
April 22, 8:28 p.m. — James M. Salvatore, 50, 359 Como St., Struthers, was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while impaired, and was cited for open container and a marked lanes violation following a traffic stop on a vehicle that drove over the curb.
