AUSTINTOWN -- A motorcyclist was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital after a Sunday afternoon crash near the township's 911 Memorial on Raccoon Road.
The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. and witnesses told police the motorcyclist was swerving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed just before the crash. The motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Cruze as it was turning into the memorial, a police report states.
A woman and two children in the Cruze were not injured, but the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries, according to the report. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.
The crash is under investigation.
