Cocaine, alcohol found in body after fatal crash
STRUTHERS — The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office ruled blunt force trauma as the cause of death for a Youngstown woman in a January car crash.
Darlene Evans, 60, died Jan. 17 in the single car crash in Struthers after 3:30 a.m. on Poland Avenue. The report noted that cocaine and alcohol were also found in her system after an autopsy.
Her Pontiac Grand Am struck a house near the Struthers library after she traveled north on Poland Avenue, according to a police report.
Her car slid sideways, striking the first of two houses then a berm, which caused her to be thrown from the car.
The Grand Am then struck a second house before coming to a stop, which was over Evans, the report stated.
There were no injuries to anyone in the homes.
