City man cited after truck hit phone lines

AUSTINTOWN — A Youngstown man was cited after the truck he was driving struck a bridge Tuesday.

Michael Rabich was cited with vehicle over height after the garbage truck he was driving struck an Ohio Turnpike bridge, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Cross beams as well as a fascia beam were damaged, a spokesman for the turnpike said. Repairs may be needed, pending further investigation.

Rabich was traveling eastbound on Mahoning Avenue with the arm extended upward on his roll-off truck, the patrol said. He struck phone wires at the intersection of Mahoning Avenue and state Route 45, then struck the overhead bridge.

The truck overturned, coming to rest on its side.

There were no injuries, the patrol said.

Starting at $3.23/week.
