WARREN -- Two defendants on Tuesday pleaded guilty to felony charges that resulted from separate task force drug investigations.
Dontre N. Adams, 25, of Carlotta Drive, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to an amended indictment charging him with possession of cocaine, aggravated possession of drugs and possession of marijuana. Adams is expected to be sentenced by Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew D. Logan after he undergoes a background investigation by the adult probation department. Adams could face up to nine years in prison.
As part of the plea deal, Adams agreed to forfeit $3,750 cash, the amount found on him by authorities when he was arrested Dec. 28, 2017, in Liberty Township.
According to prosecutors, the charges against Adams were part of an investigation by the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force. Adams was arrested after he accepted a package containing more than 2,200 grams of marijuana, 34 grams of THC and fewer than 20 grams of cocaine. Logan ordered Adams to remain free on bond. Jail records show he posted a $50,000 bond and was released March 7, 2020.
Also appearing before Logan on Tuesday was Alicia R. Wiseman, 37, of Hubbard Thomas Road, Hubbard, who pleaded guilty to a charge of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound.
Wiseman will be sentenced after undergoing a background investigation by the adult probation department. She faces a maximum prison term of one year.
The fifth-degree felony charge against Wiseman came from a December 2019 investigation conducted by the Trumbull County Sheriff's Trumbull Action Group drug task force. According to prosecutors, Wiseman sold a confidential informant 0.2 grams of a fentanyl mix for $40.
Court records show Wiseman remains free after Logan allowed her to join the pretrial release program on Jan. 2, in which she agreed to stay drug free, subject to periodic drug tests.
