YOUNGSTOWN — John F. Kukura, 37, who is incarcerated at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, has been indicted on 80 counts of possessing child pornography.

His charges accuse him of possessing obscene material that has a minor as one of the participants. The offenses are alleged to have occured on or about Oct. 20, 2020.

The charges are each a fourth-degree felony, each punishable by up to 18 months in prison.

Kukura was arrested in October as part of an online sex sting carried out by Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene, the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force and a multitude of other local and state agencies.

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court sentenced Kukura to nine months in prison March 16 after Kukura pleaded guilty to attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, one count of importuning and one count of possessing criminal tools.

Those convictions were the result of the sex sting. But during that investigation, authorities searched Kukura’s cell phone and found the images that are the subject of the new indictments.

Others indicted Thursday are:

• Reuben G. Marks, 35, Peerless Avenue Southwest, Warren, felonious assault, domestic violence and assault;

• Jasmine N. Riddle, 39, East Philadelphia Avenue, tampering with evidence; assault; aggravated drug possession and selling, purchasing, distributing or delivering dangerous drugs;

• Justin E. Woody, 46, Meadowbrook Avenue, aggravated robbery with a gun specification, notice of prior conviction and repeat violent offender specification; and robbery with notice of prior conviction and repeat violent offender specification;

• Tyran P. Madison, 22, West Warren Avenue, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle;

• Thomas M. Thompson, 40, Sherwood Avenue, felonious assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm and domestic violence;

• Michael E. McCarty Jr., 37, Mahoning County jail, domestic violence;

• Lynn R. Miller, 40, West Judson Avenue, aggravated drug possession;

• Joel J. Massey, 18, Sciota Avenue, breaking and entering, theft and forgery;

• Bethany A. Paulin, 42, Poland Avenue, Struthers, criminal trespass;

• Jacob L. Lindsey, 27, Everett Avenue, cocaine possession and petty theft;

A Jane Doe was indicted on rape with a sexually violent predator specification; attempted rape with a sexually violent predator specification; kidnapping with a sexual motivation specification and sexually violent predator specification; abduction; unlawful sexual conduct with a minor; attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor; and gross sexual imposition. The person will be named later.
