Man who walked into ER with gunshot wounds dies

YOUNGSTOWN — A 22-year-old man died during surgery at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital after walking into the emergency room lobby at 9:34 p.m. Thursday with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police were dispatched to the hospital to investigate. A news release from the Youngstown Police Department on Friday referred to it as a homicide.
A news release from the Mahoning County Coroner’s office identified the victim as Antonio Deluca, with no address given.
The release states an autopsy on DeLuca’s body will be conducted by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
It is the sixth homicide of the year. That includes three earlier this month. The city had a 40 percent increase in homicides last year compared to 2019.
Youngstown police detectives and the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office are continuing their investigations. The news releases did not provide any information on where the shooting took place.
