Two indicted in Warren shooting

WARREN — A man who gave authorities a Campbell address, and a Warren man who already has been charged with shooting at police officers during an Oct. 17, 2020, chase in Warren, were named in a special Trumbull County grand jury report.

Both are charged in an Oct. 5, 2020, shooting in Warren that wounded an 18-year-old southwest side man.

Tre’Mon Dukes, 23, of Tenney Avenue, Campbell, and Mehki Walker, 20, of Martin Street SW, Warren, are each indicted on two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of felonious assault and having weapons under restrictions.

Both robbery and assault counts carry firearm specifications for both men. If found guilty, both men would face additional prison time because of these specifications.

The latest charges are connected to an Oct. 5, 2020, incident where 18-year-old Jody Hall of 1672 Sweetbrier Ave. SW, Warren, was wounded in a fight and shooting in the area of Charles Avenue and High Street NE.

According to the police report, officers arrived in the 100 block of Charles shortly after 9 p.m. where they saw a victim with a gunshot wound. Hall was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, and he recovered.

Court records show that Walker is scheduled to be arraigned Monday morning before Common Pleas Judge Peter J. Kontos, while Dukes is to be arraigned Tuesday before Judge Andrew D. Logan.

Both men are in the Trumbull County jail.

Walker has been in the lockup since his arrest on Nov. 5, 2020, after he was accused of shooting at sheriff’s deputies and Warren police officers during a chase through several northwest Warren side streets.

In that incident, Walker faces six felony charges, including two counts of attempted murder. His next court appearance in that case is scheduled March 8 before Kontos.

Dukes has been in the county jail since his arrest on Feb. 3, records show.
