Woman gets probation for assaulting officer
YOUNGSTOWN — Shauntae M. Findley, 32, of New York Avenue, pleaded guilty to felony assault Thursday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court and received two years of probation for assaulting a police officer.
Youngstown police said Findley’s mother called police last year because Findley was off of her medications and making suicidal remarks.
Police intended to take her to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, but she assaulted an officer and was taken to the Mahoning County jail.
She later bonded out and has been undergoing inpatient mental health treatment, prosecutors said.
Visiting Judge Thomas Pokorny ordered her to continue with mental health treatment.
