Muransky appointed to post on WRPA board

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County commissioners have appointed Poland businessman and former NFL football player Ed Muransky to a position on the Western Reserve Port Authority Board of Trustees.

Muransky replaces David Mosure, who has been a port authority board member since 2014. Muransky is filling a four-year term.

Muransky is chairman of the board and founder of Muransky Companies, a business management company, and also founder, chairman, CEO and majority owner of the Surgical Hospital at Southwoods in Boardman.

He is also founder, chairman and CEO of Chestnut Land Company, the holding company for Auntie Anne’s Soft Pretzel franchises operating throughout the U.S.. He is active in many local community groups that focus on youth.

The port authority was created in 1992 to operate the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport and uses the unique powers granted to port authorities under Ohio law to promote growth and economic development in the Mahoning Valley.
