Funds accepted for dispatch agreement
BOARDMAN — Funds for this year for the Austintown-Boardman-Mahoning County Joint Communications District were accepted from the Mahoning County commissioners.
The funding agreement approved Monday by township trustees states that $188,500 will be disbursed to the dispatching center in Boardman. Another $109,500 will go to Austintown.
Both Boardman and Austintown are in the process of hiring dispatchers, and various expenses are in contract negotiations, police Chief Todd Werth said, which “stresses funding for the year.”
