Poland native off ‘The Voice’

Julia Cooper’s run on “The Voice” ended Monday.

The Poland native was voted off the singing competition at the beginning of the live episode when the winner of the Four-Way Knockout round was announced.

The knockout round featured singers from each team who lost in the head-to-head round but were saved by their coaches.

Cooper’s coach, Grammy winner John Legend, said when he saved her: “You showed us so much with your soul, your voice, your musicality, I’d love to have you go in the Four-Way Knockout and see if America will send you to the next round.”

Winner Taryn Papa was selected through online voting by viewers. One of the other four knockout contestants, operatic singer Ryan Gallagher, had to leave the competition, according to host Carson Daly.

Before the results were announced, Cooper told Legend, “I feel so grateful to have this opportunity and be coached by you. I feel I’ve learned so so much in our rehearsals.”

She also thanked all of the coaches for “the opportunity to be up here living out our dreams.”

Cooper, 21, attended Poland schools through eighth grade then attended a performing arts charter school. Growing up she performed at Youngstown Playhouse Youth Theatre and as one of Easy Street Productions’ Little Rascals in its “Miracle on Easy Street.”
