Missing woman found in eastern PA
Did not arrive in New Castle, was located near Philadelphia
YOUNGSTOWN — A 77-year-old Youngstown woman who was supposed to drive to New Castle, Pa., on Christmas Day but was reported missing, was found Tuesday morning in Delaware County, Pa., near Philadelphia.
According to a news release from the Youngstown Police Department, an officer in Springfield Township, Pa., noticed a vehicle stopped at a green light about 2:30 a.m. The officer spoke with the driver, Ruby Lee Hopson, who appeared disoriented. The officer later discovered she was reported missing from Youngstown.
Hopson, of Detroit Avenue, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and her family was notified, the report states.
Hopson’s family told Youngstown police they were going to eastern Pennsylvania to bring Hopson and her vehicle home.
“I want to thank everyone for getting this information out so quickly, and the cooperation from multiple law enforcement agencies that assisted in locating Ms. Hopson,” said Capt. Brad Blackburn, chief of detectives at Youngstown police.
